Hello, dear dhamma-friend.
My name is Τhitañāno. I am a Buddha bhikkhu (monk) and a lecturer in the department of Buddhism at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Last year, the Estonian Theravada Sangha published a book “From Siddhatthast to Buddha” which was intended for young people as well as the whole family. The book was well received in Estonia. The interest was so great, that 1000 books were distributed in just a few months.
This year, the Theravada Sangha plans to publish a new book in the Estonian Language, which will give a more detailed overview of the life and teachings of the Buddha, and will explain the progress of the path of enlightenment. As Buddhist teaching nowdays are mixed with many other teachings and philosophies, it is difficult to clarify the authenticity of the Buddha Dharma.
This book tries to facilitate this task and brings to the readers only the pure teachings of the Buddha.
The Buddha's teaching are a simple and clear mind-development system, that involves developing a compassionate and realistic view, caring, wisdom, good and non-violence behaviour, clear awareness of reality (as it is) and peace of mind. The core of the aim of the Buddhas dharma (teaching) are briefly summarised in the verse in Dhammapada (Dhp.183), which says:
“To avoid all evil,
to cultivate good,
and to cleanse one's mind —
This is the teaching of the Buddhas.”
Good friend,
If you also believe that intelligent, compassionate, morality and caring attentiveness should be a guide for our lives and actions, then you could contribute to this message by supporting the publication of the book "The Path of Enlightenment - as the Buddha Taught".
The Buddha said: “The gift of Dharma excels all gifts” (Dhp.354). This is the reason why this book never reaches book stores. By donating the amount needed to print the books, they will be shared as dāna, free of charge to all sponsors and those who are interested in the dharma. We will do our best to send the books before the end of this year.
The contents of the book and text samples can be found on the Estonian Theravada Sangha website: http://www.sangha.ee/en
I hope this book will provide to all its readers, the help they need, and a step closer to discovering the deep peace of mind and the true nature of life.
May you, your family, and all living beings be filled with loving kindness, may all living beings be free from suffering. May you be peaceful and at ease. May you be well, healthy and happy.
May the Blessings of the Triple Gem always be with you!
Thank you.
Τhitañāno Bhikkhu
