The Hi-Flyin' Combo are about to release their second vinyl (7" EP, Extended play, 45 rpm) on Sleazy Records (Spain), and here, good benefactor, you can give a hand!
In February 2023, we recorded four new songs, three of which were written by Igor "Garik" Golovenko. Once again we have chosen Lightning Recorders recording studio in Berlin, as their sound equipment and Axel Praefcke's recording methods are among the best in Europe for the rockabilly sound, and we were very happy with the result. Cherry Casino and the Gamblers helped us with backing vocals and Holger Diemeyer with keyboards.
The release will be dedicated to our friend and bandmate Igor "Garik" Golovenko (1969-2023) who have recentltly left us.
Those of us who knew him well are reminder of his positive attitude, a boundless thirst for adventure and good humour. Garik was a contributor to the local rockabilly scene for decades, playing in various groups (Stampers Track, Jolly Roger, Nine Lives, Jumpin' Wheels, Maryann & The Tri-Tones, The Hi-Flyin' Combo). As well as teaching jive dances to those interested and sharing tips on the 50's style.
We'll be pressing vinyls and releasing tracks so that Garik's creation can be heard for a long time on rockabilly scenes around the world!
