Publishing the third album of original music by composer Mihkel KeremUser's  Mikk Murdvee project in the category Music

The  purpose of our crowd funding project at the Hooandja is to issue the third of the CD series of portraits of composer Mihkel Kerem (b.1981). His first CD contained violin sonatas (composed 1992-2005) and the second orchestral works (composed 2003-2009). The third CD will contain more recent works composed during 2018-2020.

Mihkel Kerem

We  have recorded his Violin concerto (2018), Cello concerto (2020) and 6th symphony (2020). The violin concerto is played by one of the very best violinists of this generation: Triin Ruubel-Lilleberg, who apart from her extensive career as a soloist and chamber musician is also the first concert master of Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.

The  soloist in the cello concerto is Willem Stam, originally from Canada, now residing in Holland and Sweden. He is a highly sought after specialist in new music and he was also the soloist and one of the main roles in the movie "1984" which was based on Mihkel Kerem's piece.

The  orchestra in the recording is Pärnu City Orchestra, a professional collective with 30 years of history housed in the famous Pärnu Concert Hall, the home hall of the Pärnu Music Festival. Conductor is Mikk Murdvee, who has been one of the longest standing supporters and performers of Mihkel Kerem's music.
