I am Kadri and, together with the NGO Loomus team, I want to publish a book called “On the animals’ side”.

Loomus represents animal advocacy; and, among other things, the purpose of my everyday work is to ban fur farming. Before that, I have been engaged in several other animal protection and animal rights organizations. I have helped to initiate the movement In the Name of Animals (Loomade Nimel), I have been a member of the Estonian Society for the Protection of Animals, and I used to manage the animal sanctuary called Kuulikodu in Hiiumaa.

That’s why I have a lot of stories. The book would also talk about animal rights and animals; it will include interviews with many important people, who have been active in the aforementioned societies for a long time. The questions I will ask from all of us are: why do we do this; has the world become any better; what pushes us and what makes us so devoted. Now I will finally write down a few untold stories from back when I used to work in Hiiumaa, which will show the better and the worse sides of human beings. These stories are weighing on my mind, because one can never help all animals. And I will also write about animals, of how different they are, what do they want, how do they behave and how hard it actually is for them to cope among human beings. This should not be like this.

All in all, I would like to get and take the chance to write down my eight-year perpetual animal story in a condensed manner. With the help from my friends, animals and supporters. I believe that this could give an overview of what has been going on in this field during the time, and where is it all heading.

I intend to continue writing in December and January and, if all goes as planned, I will finish “On the animals’ side” in February.

I am very grateful and happy for all the support. It is going to be a paperback book of about 60 pages. Costs include design, printing costs, editing, and also author fees. We will manage marketing and distribution on our own and voluntarily with our team, and the sales revenue will be used to support the NGO Loomus.

The PDF format of the book will be uploaded to the Loomus website.
