We are folktronica band OOPUS and need your help with releasing our second studio album.
We mix traditional music with analog synths and make custom light installations pulsate as one with music. By combining Estonian bagpipes and runo songs with classic acid synths TR-09 and TB-03 we will take you from techno to acid, from 120bpm to 150bpm and beyond.
The album name is Folk On Acid, meaning traditional music in the acid genre - this is the rhythm of our hearts and, of course, we want to take old songs back to the dance floor, where they belong.
So far, we have created almost an hour of new music. We want to release it digitally, on CD, vinyl and cassette. With the help of Estonian Cultural Endowment, we have been able to record and mix all the tracks.
All the support collected through Hooandja will be used for:
- mastering four different formats (digital, CD, vinyl, cassette)
- designs and illustrations
- printing-pressing-recording physical formats (CD, vinyl, cassette)
- producing merch
- shipping costs
In addition to the music created by Mari and Johannes, Aleksander's light installations and visuals are also an important part of OOPUS' creation. Unfortunately, this part cannot be presented on sound files. That's why we have decided to use Aleksander's drawings of different light installations and concepts on album design with layouts being done by Mari and our photographer-illustrator Kerttu.
Each of these four formats will be slightly different and unique. And with the new album, we'll also plan to release a new merch collection! The T-shirts and sweatshirts will have a special themed design and will be produced consciously.
We plan to release the album in the first half of 2022 and would be happy to give it to you in person.
